Africa Geographic conservation collaboration 2

Africa Geographic Photographer of the year 2024 is being sponsored this year by my safari partners in Hwange, Imvelo Safari Lodges in association with Wildcru and SACT. This year’s winners get to help free roaming lions as each winner will have lion research collars valued at $7500 sponsored in their name, in addition to winning a conservation safari to Hwange.

I am thrilled that this years winners will be granted the opportunity to make a tangible impact on lion conservation in Hwange! The three winners will join the CEO of Africa Geographic on safari at Imvelo’s South Eastern camps, Bomani Tented Lodge and Camelthorn Lodge and will be provided with in-depth insights into the conservation of lions in the area along with spending time learning about one of the largest conservation projects in Africa today – the white rhino on community land, adjacent to the park.

Africa Geographic has always been about travel and conservation ensuring safaris make a real difference in Africa and partnering with Imvelo Safari Lodges is the perfect choice due to the significant community and conservation work Imvelo continue to do in Hwange National Park! Entries can be sent in until midnight 31st May and winners will be announced by the end of July 2024.

When I was recently in Hwange with Imvelo at Camelthorn Lodge, our guests had the most thrilling close up experience with one of the collared lions in the area, when she came to seek shade by the Imvelo vehicle after feasting on a buffalo they took down the night before. Watch the action in the reel, – Don’t Move, such goosebumps!! And our guest said by far in his 20 years of going on safaris, this moment was the most special of them all and I was so chuffed to have caught it on camera for him and to witness first hand world class conservation in action on the ground.

Thankyou to Imvelo Safari Lodges and Africa Geographic for partnering up for this excellent cause and for all you do to protect our precious wildlife! Watch the awesome video below that brings to life this powerful collaboration!
