Imagine elephants wandering below you while you watch from the comfort of a treehouse above! This is Imvelo Safari Lodges’ latest dream safari concept – to immerse guests into the fabric of the bush, in the tree tops, so that they can game view all day long from this stunning vantage point with minimal disturbance to the wildlife and the environment.
Located within a remote but game rich areas in Hwange National Park, Tum Tum Treehouse Lodge will be opening for guests from 1st April 2026. The six room, 12 bed lodge is situated in attractive teak and camelthorn woodland overlooking a series of waterholes along an inter-dune trough.
Four treehouses will feature en-suite bathrooms including outside showers, well-appointed on beautiful wooden decks with insulated canvas walls, sliding glass doors and windows, showcasing the ancient camelthorns in which they are perched and we will have one family tent with two bedrooms and two bathrooms at ground level for those wanting to keep their feet on the ground.

Guests will be able to watch wildlife wandering below them from the comfort of their treehouse bedroom or from their own Eagle’s Nest viewing platform linked by a walkway to their room. We see Tum Tum as a lodge where our guests can slow down and relax on their signature Eagles Nest decks to enjoy the wildlife parade below and in front.
The wildlife-based activities at Tum Tum will provide guests with opportunities to take game drives, bush walks, as well as visiting the rhino and Cobra Rangers in nearby Mlevu Sanctuary. Our village communities around Mtshwayeli are already excited to welcome visitors from around the world and Tum Tum’s guests will be able to enjoy Imvelo’s immersive community visits and activities acknowledged for their respectful authenticity.
Tum Tum pairs perfectly with any of the existing Imvelo camps as it is in it’s own diverse game viewing area and provides a unique accommodation style to anything else in the portfolio. The best ways to reach Tum Tum is by air ( we are landing at Linkwasha airstrip which is a 20-30min drive) or to use the Elephant express rail car with a game viewer will collect guest’s for the last one and a half hour game drive to camp.
